The Watermark at East Hill Hosts Jasmine Performing Arts Group

n celebration of Chinese New Year, The Watermark at East Hill will host a performance by Jasmine Performing Arts Group, a Chinese folk dancing group based out of Greater Danbury.  The celebration will take place on Saturday, February 26 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the auditorium at the Southbury retirement community.   

 

“An essential part of continuing to grow and thrive as we age is experiencing new cultures,” said Michelle Bettigole, Executive Director at The Watermark at East Hill.  “At our community, we consistently host a variety of cultural activities, most of which are free of charge and open to the public.  We are certain that the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration will entertain and educate guests on traditional Chinese culture.”

In addition to the dance performance, the program will include children’s dancing, a slide show and costume show.  Chinese instruments and traditional Chinese singing will also be showcased.

Jasmine Performing Arts is a non-profit organization that was established in 2010 and is dedicated to bringing Chinese culture to the tri-state area.  The organization is now affiliated with the Western Connecticut Chinese Association (WCCA).
