Examining Who Signed The Southbury Petition To Remove Trump From Office: Report
Local officials are still researching the validity of the petition submitted by a group of residents.

SOUTHBURY, CT — A local petition seeking the ouster of President Donald Trump from office was signed by 67 Democrats, 3 Republicans and 14 unaffiliated voters, according to the Republican-American. Most of the signatures have been verified and it still appears that a special town meeting must be called by Oct. 27 to discuss the issue.
Former First Selectman Ed Edelson, a Democrat, who signed the petition, said the petition was done correctly and if the special meeting is denied than so is "our rights as citizens to petition the government," the Rep-Am reports.
Trump did receive more votes in Southbury than Hillary Clinton during last year's election. Officials are still researching the validity of the petition.
