Five Things to Know this Week

Upcoming events

1:  More snow is due Monday night, with a 90 percent of one to three inches of snow beginning after 9 p.m.  The snow is expected to continue into Tuesday morning ending around 9 a.m.

The rest of the week should be calm, but cold; partly cloudy with highs in the mid to low twenties.

2:  There are some public meetings this week, including the Board of Selectmen meeting Thursday, rescheduled from last week.

  • Monday, the Historic Tree Committee will meet in Town Hall room 208 at 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, the Retirement Plan Oversight Committee will meet in Town Hall room 208 at 4 p.m.  Inland Wetlands will meet in room 205 at 7 p.m.  The Pool House Committee will meet at 7:30 p.m.  The Historic District will meet in room 208 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Animals for Life will meet in Town Hall room 106 at 6 p.m.  Zoning will meet in room 205 at 7:30 p.m.  The Conservation Commission will meet in room 208 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, The Board of Selectmen will meet in Town Hall room 205 at 7:30 p.m.

3:  There are a few sports games planned for the week.

  • Boys Basketball will play Masuk at Masuk Monday at 7:30 p.m.  Tuesday, they will play Bunnell at home at 7:00 p.m.  Friday they will have an away game against Weston at 7 p.m.
  • Girls Basketball will play an away game Tuesday at Bunnell at 7 p.m.  Friday, they will play Weston at home at 7 p.m.
  • Hockey will play Wilton, Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Ridgefield’s, Winter Garden Rink.

4: featuring Will Siss, columnist for the Republican American.  The tasting runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.  Guests will receive 6 oz. portions of five beers and paired appetizer sized dishes.
