Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Southbury Proudly Welcomes Ivan and Brianna Zahariev

Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Southbury is excited to welcome Ivan Zahariev as our newest Dance Coach and to proudly feature Brianna Zahariev as one of our Dance Instructors.

Ivan Zahariev, an international DanceSport champion, has represented Spain and Croatia worldwide, earning multiple national titles and top placements at World Championships and European Cups. His professional highlights include choreographing the opening number for 2024 Dancing with the Stars Spain. Known for his calm, approachable coaching style, Ivan helps students of all levels develop confidence, grace, and strong ballroom technique.
“Dance coaching is about more than steps, it’s about confidence, connection, and growth,” says Ivan. “My goal is to make every student feel supported and proud of their progress.”

Brianna Zahariev, a lifelong dancer and seasoned performer, brings a rich background in hip-hop, tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and contemporary dance. She has performed professionally on Broadway, with the WNBA Connecticut Sun, and the NBA/G-League Celtics. Brianna’s well-rounded experience allows her to deliver polished, engaging ballroom lessons that blend technique, musicality, and expressive movement.
“Dance has always been a powerful way for me to build confidence and tell a story,” shares Brianna. “I love helping students discover their potential while having fun in the process.”

Together, Ivan and Brianna bring international excellence, professional performance experience, and genuine passion to our Southbury community.
