Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Southbury Shines at New England Freddy Ball Competition in Springfield, MA

Springfield, MA – From February 26–28, the elegance, excitement, and prestige of ballroom dancing were on full display as Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Southbury proudly participated in the New England Freddy Ball Dance Competition at the Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place Hotel.

Over three spectacular days of competition, Southbury students and professionals delivered outstanding performances across multiple styles and divisions, culminating in a glamorous Saturday Night Gala on February 28.

Saturday Night Gala & Awards Celebration

The competition culminated in the dazzling Saturday Night Gala, where dancers were celebrated not only for their competitive success but also for their growth, dedication, and achievement within the Fred Astaire Trophy System.

The following Southbury students proudly received their certifications and performed an Honor Dance with their instructor:

It was an emotional and meaningful moment for these students, marking a milestone in their dance journey. The pride and joy felt throughout the ballroom reflected the validation of their hard work and commitment to excellence.

2025 New England Professional Awards

During the Gala, Zlata Dzhaman was honored as the 2025 New England Top Competition Instructor Female.

Zlata’s recognition highlights her exceptional talent, leadership, and genuine care for her students’ growth and success. Her passion for teaching and unwavering dedication continue to elevate the Southbury studio and its dance community.
