Gas Pipeline Maintenance On Southford Road In Southbury

Construction on the pipeline began Monday and will continue into September.

Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC (“Algonquin”) is an interstate natural gas transmission company that maintains and operates pipelines in the mid-Atlantic and New England States. Part of Algonquin’s pipeline system runs through a portion of the Town of Southbury and crosses under Route 67 near 623 Southford Road, Southbury, CT. Algonquin is preparing to perform a maintenance activity on one of its pipelines under Southford Road.

The construction will begin on Monday, August 15th, 2022. Algonquin’s work schedule calls for working 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, with the work week beginning on Monday mornings at 7am and ending on Saturday mornings at 7am. Algonquin will utilize one lane alternating traffic throughout the construction term. In addition, Algonquin will be taking measures to minimize sound when working outside the daylight hours. At this time, Algonquin anticipates that the work will be completed by the Labor Day weekend.

Algonquin has been coordinating with local officials to ensure awareness and provide information on the maintenance project.
