Good Conversations - 'Poverty in Southbury'

There will be an in-depth discussion concerning poverty in the Southbury community. RSVPs are encouraged.

Is having a street named Poverty Road the closest that people in Southbury come to experiencing poverty? Over the years, the answer to that question has become a definitely “no.”

Clergy from some the Southbury faith Communities are hosting this discussion as part of a “Good Conversation Series.” The goal is to spark healthy and constructive conversation on issues that are important to the town.

Facilitators will present a “current snapshot” of the growing impact of poverty in the community and also identify resources available. The gathering will begin with some guidelines for respectful and productive conversation and a brief overview of the issue at hand, followed by the opportunity for all to participate in good conversation about the topic.
