Important Storm Update From Southbury Officials

Region 15 schools will be closed on Friday.

Power is being restored. Twenty-one crews are actively working and are hitting the town hard. Fifteen additional crews (line and tree) are being added tonight. Eversource reminds everyone that we are now at a point that ALL wires should be considered live.

If you are using an improperly installed generator, using it will slow down the recovery. Please refer to our website for proper generator use. The detection of such a generator will cause the crew to move from your location to another location. Again, safety is the first priority. All wires should be considered live.

Eversource also reminds us that they may need to bring down your power while in the process of restoring other areas. Please be patient, it will be restored as quickly as possible.
Travel our roads slowly for safety. There are crews in the roadways as well as tree and limbs close to the edge of the road.

Pomperaug High School is open as a shelter, charging station, showers and will be serving some meals.
