Indian Wells and Kettletown State Parks Closed For Swimming

All other state parks in Connecticut are safe to swim in.

Indian Wells State Park in Shelton and Kettletown State Park in Southbury are closed for swimming due to blue-green algae.

State officials say they test the water to ensure that it is safe for swimming. Samples are collected by DEEP staff and are analyzed at the Department of Public Health Lab.

Local health departments are responsible for sampling municipal swimming areas. For information on closures of local swimming areas contact the local public health agency.
