UPDATE: Kettletown Park Now Cleared for Swimming
The beach was closed on Tuesday because of bacteria levels.
UPDATE, Wednesday, June 17: The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says it’s all clear for swimming again at Kettletown Park after it was closed for swimming on Tuesday.

Four state park beaches are closed to swimming as a result of elevated bacteria counts detected by water quality testing.

The four beaches are:
- Kettletown, Southbury
- Sherwood Island, Westport
- Silver Sands, Milford
- Indian Well, Shelton
New test samples were taken at all four locations today and results are expected tomorrow. If tests show bacteria levels have receded, the beaches can be reopened.
