Live to Dance, 8 p.m., CBS
I was, of course, so looking forward to this because I adore the Zen nonsense that is Paula Abdul. I was, of course, so let down. Because it was bad. It was so bad that I actually started wondering if maybe it was Ashton Kutcher’s most elaborate punk’d yet. I mean it would’ve been expensive, but hilarious for him to Tweet that he had pulled another one over on Paula, just like Bruno did. Sadly, I think it is not a satire, spoof or prank. I think it is just a terrible reality competition show.

They are burning off double episodes because Idol is steamrolling its way toward us next week. So we are lucky in that we are getting twice the square-jawedness each Wednesday night but we are sad because the end is near, and as always I fear for this show’s renewal. Last year it made it back on the schedule by the skin of its teeth.

From Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rimes: “Idealistic young doctors, on the run from personal demons, arrive in a small town in the South American jungle; a former chief of surgery at UCLA teaches the newcomers how to save lives in a challenging environment.” Also, expect boinking. (P.S., Matt from Friday Night Lights is on this, so at least they’ve got going for them.)
