Standoff In Southbury Ends, Suspect In Custody: UPDATE
State Police responded to a domestic disturbance but the accused is refusing to exit his home, and may have a gun, police say.

UPDATE: State Police say the prolonged standoff has ended Monday afternoon and the suspect is in custody. No one was injured and he is being evaluated by EMS.
SOUTHBURY, CT — State Police are currently trying to get a man who is currently locked inside a home in Southbury to exit the house.
On May 21, 2018 at 2:00 a.m., Troopers from Troop A and the Southbury Resident Trooper’s Office responded to a disturbance at a residence on Purchase Brook Road in Southbury. Troopers made contact with the accused party and that individual, who may be in possession of a firearm, has refused to exit the residence to speak with Troopers, State Police said.

Personnel from the CSP Emergency Services Unit (ESU) have responded to the scene and are communicating with the accused party regarding his exiting the residence. There were no injuries reported during the disturbance and there is no threat to the public, State Police said.
There are currently several road closures/detours in place in the area around Purchase Brook Road.
