Man In Stolen Car Engages Troopers In Southbury Pursuit: Report
The accused refused to stop for troopers and took off at a high rate of speed, according to a report.
SOUTHBURY, CT — Manuel Ortiz, 18, of MacArthur Drive in Waterbury is accused of stealing a vehicle from a gas station in Danbury and when Troop A troopers tried to stop the vehicle on Interstate-84, Ortiz sped away, the Republican-American reports.
Troopers deployed stop sticks which caused the vehicle to incur flat tires by Exit 17 in Middlebury, the Rep-Am reports. Ortiz tried to run from cops but was quickly taken into custody late Tuesday.
