Man Tosses Large Amount Of Drugs From Car: Southbury Police

Alert police officers were able to retrieve the drugs.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Southbury Police recovered a significant amount of drugs and a Roxbury man has been charged, police said. On Monday, May 14, officers Armeno, Markette and Ezzo were conducting speed enforcement on Roxbury Road.

Officers clocked a vehicle traveling at a higher than normal rate of speed, police said. Armeno attempted to stop the vehicle. Ezzo witnessed the driver throw something from the vehicle prior to stopping, police said. Markette later retrieved the tossed item which contained a large amount of drugs, drug paraphernalia and the operator's wallet which contained his license, police said.

The driver, David Warner, 34, of Roxbury was arrested and released on a $2,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 30.
