New Basketball Courts Coming to Southbury
Current court at Community House Park will be converted into a parking lot.

Construction is underway for two state of the art basketball courts at Community House Park in Southbury. There will be two regulation courts with glass backboards when the project is completed.
The courts will be constructed with a post tension concrete system. The entire system will be waterproof and comes with a 20-year guarantee to be free of any structural cracking. Both courts will be fenced in and the old court will be converted into a parking lot, according to a release issued by the Southbury First Selectman’s Office.
The project was funded by a STEAP grant Southbury received from the state. The old court, a very popular place for young and old to play basketball, will be closed during the construction of the new courts.
