New Details Released About Murder Suspect's Arrest In Southbury
Technology played a key role in State Police's arrest of a man accused of being the 12th suspect involved in the murder of a NYC teen.

SOUTHBURY, CT — State Police released new details concerning their arrest of a man in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old New York City teenager, who was brutally stabbed to death last month by gang members in an apparent case of mistaken identity.
Troop A-Southbury stopped a car at 2:36 p.m. Monday on Interstate 84 after a trooper’s License Plate Reader (LPR) signaled that a passing motor vehicle in the Danbury area was wanted in connection to a homicide in New York City. The car was stopped near Exit 13 on the eastbound side of I-84 in Southbury.
The driver was identified by his New York driver’s license as Luis A. Cabrarasantos, 24, of the Bronx, NY. Troopers contacted NYPD detectives who relayed that Cabrarasantos was wanted in connection to the homicide of 15-year-old Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz and was considered the 12th suspect, State Police said.

Cabrarasantos was transported to Troop A-Southbury and detained until NYPD detectives arrived to continue the homicide investigation and interview Cabrarasantos. As the result of an extraditable arrest warrant (Murder 2 and other violent felonies) issued by the New York court system, Connecticut State Troopers arrested Cabrarasantos and charged him with fugitive from justice.
Cabrarasantos was held on a $1 million bond and transported to New Haven Correction Center where he is being held pending a court appearance at Waterbury Superior Court before transfer to NYPD and extradition back to New York.

Eleven people have been arrested thus far in connection with the brutal stabbing death of Lesandro Guzman-Feliz last month who was dragged out of a Bronx bodega. Leandra Feliz told WCBS-TV her son Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, aka Junior, left their apartment to loan someone money.
Surveillance video shows the suspects enter the Belmont bodega, located at Bathgate Avenue and East 183rd. The boy is dragged out onto the street and stabbed multiple times in the neck, CBS New York reports. He ran to a local hospital and later died of his injuries, according to reports.
Family members told media outlets that a local street gang reached out and said they meant to attack someone else. A family member told The Post a gang leader apologized to the family, admitted it was a case of mistaken identity and kicked out all the gang members over the killing.
Lesandro had been reportedly enrolled in the NYPD's explorer's program, which is intended for youths and young adults interested in a future with the police force.
The family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help out with funeral and other costs. It has raised more than $334,000 as of Monday evening.
