Southbury - Angelo N. Morelli, 75, of Southbury, CT and Delray Beach, FL passed away in his home on October 7, 2016. He was born in the Bronx, NY in 1941, son of the late Joseph and Theresa Morelli, step-son of the late Frank Reale.
Angelo attended Christopher Columbus High School in the Bronx, NY and then enlisted in the U. S. Army, where his love of cars and his auto mechanic skills were put to use in the motor pool. In 1963, after his service, he married Marie, his childhood sweetheart. Together they raised 2 wonderful daughters. Angelo was a devoted husband, father, uncle and friend.

For more than 20 years, Angelo worked for the NY MTA. He began as a bus driver, transferred to bus mechanic and, eventually became a foreman of a mechanic shop. Upon retiring, he and Marie moved to Heritage Village in Southbury. He was active in his community and at one time served as President of the Italian Renaissance Club.
He enjoyed making stained glass art and loved antique cars. Angelo was always willing to lend a hand to his neighbors and friends. Not too infrequently, he could figure out an automotive problem with a friend's car which enabled them to get to work the next day. However, he was not always perfect, often refusing to read directions when building things, ending up with "spare parts".

He kept conversation lively by often interjecting humorous jokes and sayings. He enjoyed escaping winters by spending time in Florida, often saying "the only ice I want to see is the ice in my glass." His time in Florida was filled with fun events with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marie and his brother, Joseph Morelli.
He is survived by his two daughters, Marialena Khawly and her husband, Joseph and their children, Gabrielle Ariana and Joseph Angelo, and Rita Teresa Treglia and her husband, Enrico and their children Michael John, Nicolas Angelo, and Tessa Victoria; half-brother, Frank Reale and 15 nieces and nephews.
Angelo will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11th at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury.
Entombment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Danbury. Calling hours: Monday Oct. 10th from 5 to 8 p.m. in the daily chapel of Sacred Heart Church. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
