Obituary: Annamae Pomerenk, 81, of Southbury

She enjoyed socializing as well as her independence and loved animals, especially her cat.

Annamae Pomerenk, 81, died peacefully Wed. Dec. 7th in her home. She was the wife of the late Raymond Pomerenk. Annamae was born Jan. 3, 1935 in Bridgeport, daughter of John Sherwood and Ann Tamborine. Formerly of Bedford, PA, she was currently living in Heritage Village.

She enjoyed socializing as well as her independence and loved animals, especially her cat. Annamae had a caring and giving soul and often donated to charities. Her greatest joy was baking for her family and friends. She leaves one grandson, Scott S. Smith Jr. and two granddaughters, Caitlin Smith and Lindsay Smith. She is pre-deceased by her children, Raymond Pomerenk Jr. and Lynn Smith.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 11th from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m . at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m.
