Obituary: Anthony Michael LaBarba, of Southbury

SOUTHBURY - Anthony Michael LaBarba, of Southbury went home to the Lord after a heroic battle with a long illness on Friday, November 9, 2018 with his family by his side.

Anthony was born on October 28, 1943 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Louis and Mary (Pelosi) LaBarba. After graduating high school, Anthony started his long career in hairdressing at Ricky's in Newtown, then moved on to Southbury where he owned Anthony's of Southbury and later Susan Michael Salon.

Anthony will be sorely missed by his two sisters: Elizabeth "Betty" Petrucelli and her husband Michael of Milford; and Gloria Arsenian (and her late husband John) of Monroe; several nieces and nephews; as well as his best friend Carrie Hitzegrad. Besides his parents, Anthony was predeceased by his brother Louis LaBarba and his wife Joan, and his sister Angelina LaBarba.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. S. in Southbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated after the visitation at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at New North Cemetery in Woodbury.
