Obituary: Carol S. Quoka, 75, of Southbury

She was a long-time resident of Southbury and worked as a waitress at Constantine's Restaurant in Woodbury for many years.

Southbury – Carol S. Quoka, 75, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 18th, in St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. Carol was born July 13, 1941 in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Salva) Schede. She was a long-time resident of Southbury and worked as a waitress at Constantine’s Restaurant in Woodbury for many years.

She was also an accomplished artist and craftswoman, operating her business, Plain and Fancy. She loved displaying her crafts at area fairs, especially the Big E. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, who were so very special to her.

She leaves two devoted children, Jay Quoka and wife, Tracy, of Mount Vernon, MO; and Jodie Girgasky of Southbury; four loving grandchildren, Katrina Quoka of Southington, Joshua Girgasky and Michelle Girgasky, both of Southbury, and Jessica Collins of Terryville; her cherished great-grandson, Alex David; and two brothers, Ernest Schede and wife, Sandy and Harold Schede and partner, Patty Lucas. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 22nd from 2 to 4 p.m. at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury.

Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury, will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the Southbury Volunteer Firemen’s Assoc., PO Box 911, Southbury, CT 06488
