Obituary: Dr. Murray S. Fleischer, 90
Dr. Fleischer and his wife were the Founders of the Human Relations Center in White Plains, NY and practiced there together for many years.

Dr. Murray S. Fleischer, passed away on Monday May 21, 2018 at the age of 90. He was the devoted husband of Norma S. Fleischer, beloved father of Melissa Fleischer, Esq. of Southbury, CT and loving grandfather to Jess & Jared Cocomazzi and Josh Danzig also of Southbury, CT. He also had two granddaughters from his son, and three great-grandchildren. Dr. Fleischer loved spending time with his family and studied and played violin and classical music having graduated from the Manhattan School of Music.
Dr. Fleischer was a Veteran of the Korean War and worked at Mason General Hospital and Greenhaven Prison as a psychiatric social worker. Previously, he had worked as a psychiatric aid at The Institute of Living in Hartford, CT. He then went on to do his undergraduate work at University of Kentucky, received his Master’s Degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio and earned a PHD at Yeshiva University in Clinical Psychology.

Dr. Fleischer worked and did research as a Clinical Psychologist at Westhill Sanitarium in Riverdale, NY for many years. Dr. Fleischer and his wife were the Founders of the Human Relations Center in White Plains, NY and practiced there together for many years. He was a member of many professional organizations.
Dr. Fleischer loved to travel and did so extensively with his wife, Norma and enjoyed many long trips to multiple countries including Australia, the Orient, Europe and South America. He and his wife, Norma, retired to Naples, FL and spent their summers at Heritage Village in Southbury, CT where they could be close to their grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A funeral was held on Thursday, May 24th at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, NJ.
