Mrs. Moreland was born June 27, 1934, in Fort Worth Texas, the daughter of the late Ora Leveridge Elliott and Edwin A. Elliott. She was predeceased by her sister, Nina J. Mueller.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Moreland is survived by her daughters, Janet (Vincent) Caggiano of Watertown CT, Kay Marbeth, of Danbury CT, and Sharon (Paul) Hiznay of Fairfield CT, and her grandchildren, Vincent “V.J.” Caggiano, Heather “Zozo’ Marbeth, Ashley Marbeth, Christina “Tina” Caggiano, Alexa Hiznay, and Tyler Hiznay. She also leaves a great-grandson, Michael Toth, her brother and sister in-laws, Otis and Anne Moreland of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

Mrs. Moreland was a 1952 graduate of Paschal High School in Fort Worth Texas, where she met her husband, Parker. Mrs. Moreland attended Stephens College and Texas Christian University and graduated with a BA in September 1955.

She also was an active member of PTA during the time her children were in school, and she often was at school volunteering for many school activities.

Mrs. Moreland enjoyed crocheting, and made many blankets and clothing items for her family. She was also an avid reader, devouring books. Her children and grandchildren spent many hours with her playing games, and she never let them win, they had to play well to win a game against her. She grew beautiful flowers in her gardens. What she loved most was her family. Her love shone on all brightly. Many say they learned about what love was from her. She was love personified, and will be deeply missed.

Burial will be private. A celebration of life service will be held at King Street United Church of Christ, 201 South King St., Danbury, CT. at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 29, 2016.
