She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed bingo, reading and crocheting.

Southbury, CT – Eleanor Louise Gundersen, 90, died peacefully at the Lutheran Home of Southbury on Friday, March 24th. She was the widow of George Gundersen Sr. Mrs. Gundersen was born June 5, 1926 in Winthrop, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Oscar C. and Eleanor (Kenney) Schlueter Jr.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed bingo, reading and crocheting. She leaves her children, Sue (Louisa) Russomanno of Brookfield, CT and George Gundersen and his wife, Annmarie, of Pembroke Pines, FL; 4 grandchildren, Robert Russomanno and his wife, Lauren, of Southbury, CT, Teresa Chaber and her husband, Paul, of Danbury, CT, Nicole Brantley and her husband,Craig, of Loveland, CO and Lisa Gundersen and fiancé, Alex Camacho, of Pembroke Pines , FL; 8 great-grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her sister, Barbara Michels. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury, CT. Burial will follow in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middle Village, NY. Calling hours: Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
