Southbury – Elizabeth C. (Galligan) Shiya, 94, formerly of Heritage Village, died Tuesday, July 3rd at the Watermark at East Hill. She was the wife of the late Tom Shiya and John Kahlenbeck.
Elizabeth was born May 26, 1924, in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late Edward J and Mary E. ( Nugent) Galligan.
She had worked as a flight attendant for Colonial Airlines and later as an executive secretary for many years in Rockefeller Center in NYC.

Although she had no children, Elizabeth was loved by her many nieces and nephews and leaves her sister-in-law, Esther Galligan of Florida. She was pre-deceased by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Private burial in New North Cemetery, Woodbury. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
