Obituary: Evelyn R. Vassak, 78, formerly of Southbury

Evelyn R. Vassak, 78, formerly of Southbury, died Thursday, March 8th in Milford. She was the wife of the late Emery J. Vassak III. Evelyn was born Dec. 28, 1939 in Taunton, MA, daughter of the late Edward R. and Mary (Espinosa) LeBrun. Her early childhood was spent in Bristol, RI, moving to Danbury with her family when she was 16.

She moved to Southbury in 1974 where she lived for almost 40 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her girls and family, especially playing video games with the grandchildren. She loved to crochet, watch her soap operas, doing her puzzles and enjoyed going to the casino.

She leaves her four daughters, Renee Bossone and husband, Marc, of Milford, Christine Farrell and husband, Thomas, of Roxbury, Evette Cox and husband, Wayne, of Watertown and Michele Vassak of Southbury; seven grandchildren: Sheila, Cesire, Terah, Kayleigh, Scott, Deshy and Quade; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church of Christ, 283 Main Street North, Southbury. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
