Obituary: Glen Joseph Thompson "Wayno", 43, of Southbury

He graduated from Pomperaug High School. His greatest joy was his relationship with his nieces.

SOUTHBURY-Glen Joseph Thompson "Wayno", 43, passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2018 at home. After a courageous and determined battle against addiction he is finally at peace.

Glen was born in Waterbury,CT on August 12, 1975 to Wayne and Noreen Thompson. He graduated from Pomperaug High School and attended Vermont Community College in Burlington, VT. He lived in many places, but his favorites were surfing in Hawaii and snowboarding in Vermont. Glen enjoyed gardening, traveling, the Miami Dolphins, and spending time with family, especially spending the summers in Rhode island growing up. He will be remembered for his ability to make friends and his sense of humor.

His greatest joy was his relationship with his nieces.

Glen is survived by his father Wayne Thompson, mother Noreen Thompson, sister Jolene Swann and husband Bryon, nieces Kalyn and Haley Swann, grandmother Jean Thompson, aunts Kayanne Davis (Bill), Judi Hennessey (Tom) and several cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents Joe and Roseann Gallagher and Leroy Thompson, and uncle Joseph Gallagher.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9:00am to 10:45am on Thursday, December 27, 2018, in the Daily Chapel at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. S. in Southbury. A Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow in the church sanctuary.
