She is also survived by their five grandchildren Paul, Ann, Erin, Jack and Danny; and three great grandchildren Jocelyn, Grace and Haven. She will be deeply missed by them all as well as by her many friends.

Jean and Raymond were married for 63 years and for the past 22 years have been active members of the Heritage Village and Southbury communities, participating in many organized trips across the United States, volunteering time to charitable causes, and playing golf, bocce and bowling which consumed much of their time.

After her five children were grown, Jean worked for 10 years as an administrative assistant within the Trumbull, CT, school system.

Jean was a loving and devoted wife and mother and had a passion for cooking, gardening and watching sports. The hundreds of meals she prepared over the years for family birthdays, Easters, Thanksgivings and Christmases were always special.

She had a reputation for having the solution to any quandary on food preparation—remarkable because she never consulted the internet! Her gardening skills were equally impressive and you could always find her planting, transplanting and pruning outside whenever the weather permitted.

She enjoyed sharing her cooking and gardening tips with family and friends. Early on, she developed into a true sports fan by attending her children’s high school athletic events, and eventually she became especially committed to the Yankees, Giants and college basketball.

As per Jean’s request, there will be no calling hours. A memorial mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 17th at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury, CT. A private interment will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Southbury, CT. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
