Sandy Hook – Mary A. Pettit, 74, a former resident of Southbury for 43 years, died Tuesday, Feb. 21st at her home in Sandy Hook. She was the widow of Lincoln L. Pettit. Mrs. Pettit was born Oct. 18, 1942, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late David J. and Mary (Szabo) Parrello.
She retired as an executive secretary for Region 15, Gainfield Elementary School, in Southbury where she worked for many years.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved her canine friends. She is survived by her devoted son, David L. Pettit and his wife, Karen, of Sandy Hook, two grandchildren, Kayla M. Pettit and Kyle D. Pettit, both of Sandy Hook, her sister-in-law and life-long friend, Rose Pettit, also of Sandy Hook and her dog, King. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 2nd from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury. A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
