Southbury - Nancy Joyce Schoeck age 69, of Southbury, died Feb. 1, 2017 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born in Bridgeport and raised in Fairfield, Nancy was a Southbury resident for 45 years. Ms. Schoeck was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School and Central Connecticut State University.
Nancy worked as an elementary school teacher at Frank T. Wheeler School in Plainville and middle school teacher at Woodbury Middle School in Woodbury.

She was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Southbury and was involved with more than 12 activities and committees at the church. Nancy is survived by her partner Frederick Obman, son, Michael Schoeck, her brothers, Neil Shay and Robert Shay, her aunt Jennie Hunter, several cousins and two nieces. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ, 283 Main Street N, Southbury. Interment will immediately follow the service at the church.
