Southbury - Peter “Pete” W. Winship, 66, husband of Martha (Nichols) Winship, passed away at home on June 18, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Pete was born November 12, 1950 in Danbury to Dorothy Judson Gagnon and the late Anson Winship.
A life-long Southbury resident, Pete worked as a truck driver for Stone Construction for 38 years, until his illness. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering around in his garage with his best friend, Ralph Darrah. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 28 ½ years, Mart, his son, Peter, his daughters, Sharon and Katie, and his grandchildren, Kayla, Kirsten, Cheyenne, Makayla, Ellie, Justin, Nick, Jake and Madison. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Kehmna, and his brother, Walter Winship. He was the son-in-law of Raymond and Margaret Nichols.
