Obituary: Raymond H. Blank, 100, of Pomperaug Woods
He later moved to Heritage Village in Southbury and became a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

Southbury – Raymond H. Blank, 100, of Pomperaug Woods, died Monday, Nov. 7th in Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Anne M. Blank, to whom he was married for 68 years. Mr. Blank was born January 1, 1916, in Manhattan, NY, son of the late Isadore and Barbara (Faeth) Blank.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Manhattan College in 1937 and was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a CPA who worked as head of statistical research in the tax department of Exxon for 29 years.

After retirement from Exxon, he became a test corrector for the CPA Exams and commuted into Manhattan for 15 years. He later moved to Heritage Village in Southbury and became a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed traveling, wintered in Florida, and spent many years playing golf at the Heritage Village Golf Club.
His fall weekends were filled with NY Giants football games and Boston College football games, sometimes both in one weekend. He was a truly devoted fan of the sports of football and golf. He then moved to Pomperaug Woods in Southbury where he enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends.

He continued to travel till he was 99! He leaves three sons, Charles Blank and his wife, Joan, of Chino Hills, CA, Raymond Blank Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Poinciana, FL, and Stephen Blank and his wife, Barbara, of Danbury, CT; three daughters, Rosemary Marinaccio and her husband, Raymond, of Thornwood, NY, Marion Cooper of Woodbury, CT and Janet Wilkins and her husband, Jack, of Selkirk, NY; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Theresa Blank, and grand-daughter, Lauren Blank. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Nov. 10th at 11:00 a.m. in St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, NY. No calling hours. A memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be held in the spring. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
