Robert S. Sitar, 81, died Sunday, Jan. 8th in Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Maureen (Kelly) Sitar. Robert was born November 26, 1935, in Waterbury, son of the late John and Helen (Bonacke) Sitar. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force.
He worked at Lord Aerospace in Shelton and later Pomperaug Woods Health Center in Southbury. He enjoyed camping, boating, water skiing, the ocean, vacationing at Point Folly on Bantam Lake and Surfside Beach, SC. He considered his greatest accomplishment as raising his three children, of whom he was so proud. Formerly of Naugatuck, he was a long-time resident of Southbury. Besides his devoted and loving wife of 45 years, Maureen, he leaves his beloved children, David R. Sitar of Seymour, James C. Sitar and his fiancée Shannon Lopes, of Naugatuck, and Annmarie Sitar of Astoria, NY, and his sister-in-law, Helen Sitar. He is pre-deceased by his brother, Donald Sitar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 13th at 12:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. Calling hours: Friday morning from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
