(August 15, 1929 - September 27, 2015)

Ruth Mary Keys (Maxwell), 86, peacefully passed on Sunday September 27, in Southbury. Born in Rochester, N.Y., she was pre-deceased by her husband Harry E. Keys, Jr, and is survived by her four children, Deborah Swan, Amherst, Mass.; Duffy, Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.; Dan, Southbury; David, Montclair, N.J. and seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Ruth’s passions were her children, volunteering, playing mahjong, and anything chocolate. A devout catholic, Ruth was born on the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, observed yearly on August 15th.

Concurrent with raising her children, until her retirement, Ruth dedicated countless hours volunteering for local hospitals, including Framingham Union (MA), Huntington (NY), and New Hanover Regional (NC) where she was recognized with “20,000 hour” volunteer award.

In recognition of her volunteerism, donations in any amount to your local hospital auxiliary organization or to New Hanover Regional Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary, 2131 S.17th St, Wilmington NC, 28401 is appreciated by her family.

Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, N.Y. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury, CT.
