
Sarah Solomita, of Heritage Village, wife of the late Frank S. Solomita died Monday January 9 , 2012 at Abbott Terrace in Waterbury. Mrs. Solomita was born in New York City on May 17, 1912, a daughter of the late Constantino and Bambina (Lanese) Christiano.
Formerly of Waterbury, she was the co-owner of The Madeline Roberts Travel Agency, was a member of the Prospect AARP chapter 2845 and was the director of the Revelers Singing Group. She was an avid Yankee fan, loved going to Foxwoods, and enjoyed the UConn men's and women's basketball teams. She loved any kind of music and poetry and was known to be able to recite many poems from memory, even in her later years.
She is survived by her beloved children, her son Frank Solomita and his wife Roberta of Somers, NY, her daughter Nancy Prager of Southbury, her brother John Christiano of CT, her three grandsons, Steven Solomita and his wife Maura of Mulberry, FL, David Solomita and his wife Cindy of Endicott, NY, Michael Solomita and his wife Beth of Stamford, five great grandchildren, Haley, Grace, Austin, Jack and Ava, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.

A funeral mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Church, 900 Main Street South in Southbury on Friday January 13, 2012 at 10 a.m.
Friends may call at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North on Thursday January 12 , 2012 from 4 - 7 p.m.
