Obituary: ​Timothy P. Norris, 56, of Southbury

He coached softball teams for over a decade that all four daughters played on.

Timothy P. Norris, 56, died suddenly on Saturday, July 23rd in his home. He was the husband of Eve (Durrschmidt) Norris.

Tim was born January 25, 1960, in Bridgeport, son of Doris (Kennedy) Norris of Trumbull and the late Patrick Norris, born in Drogheda, Ireland. Tim instilled in his daughters a love of the outdoors, and healthy competition.

He coached softball teams for over a decade that all four daughters played on, in between supporting them in the seemingly thousands of other activities they took on over the years.

Tim was the proud proprietor of his own business. Tim only knew how to cook for a crowd, which came in handy in such times as when he was asked to cook breakfast for a “few people” which turned into all 130 guests at one of his daughters’ wedding.

He was a tremendous worker who constantly amazed his family with the lengths he would go for them. He will be remembered for his piercing wit, laughing eyes and willingness to lend a hand.

Besides his mother and beloved wife of 33 years, he leaves four loving daughters, two sons in law and two grandchildren; Meg and Helon Hoffer and their son Alden of North Conway, NH, Kate and Scott Linzmeyer and their daughter Calais of Boston, MA, Kelly Norris and Rebecca Norris, both of Southbury.

Additionally, he leaves his four bothers Richard Norris, Tom Norris, Brian Norris, and John Norris and his two sisters Susan Kanuch and Doreen Wheeler, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass and Burial will be held Thursday, July 28th at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury.

Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury. Calling hours: Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Sacred Heart Church. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southbury Land Trust www.SouthburyLandTrust.org.
