Obituary: Walter “Skip” B. Lynn, Sr., 75, of Southbury

He spent most of his life working on the family farm in Watertown, and always had a friendly smile.

Southbury – Walter “Skip” B. Lynn, Sr., 75, died Wednesday, June 20th in the VITAS Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marilyn (Drown) Lynn. Walter was born August 10, 1942 in Waterbury, a son of the late Robert and Edith (Wilson) Lynn. He spent most of his life working on the family farm in Watertown, and always had a friendly smile.

He leaves two daughters, Robin Brand and Lisa Lynn; 4 grandchildren, Steven Lynn and Roseann Miclette, and Matthew and Mark McHolland; one great-grandson, Kristopher Gaylord; one brother, Nelson Lynn, and 4 sisters, Sharon Cooper and husband, Ron, Marjorie Palmer and husband, Ed, Susan McAllister and husband, Bill, and Cindy Merrill and husband, William. Besides his wife who died this past February, he is pre-deceased by his son, Walter Lynn Jr., his granddaughter, Heather Miclette and his brother, Jim Lynn.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 26th at 1:00 p.m. at United Church of Christ, 283 Main Street North, Southbury. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours: Monday June 25th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury.
