Woman Wanted in Southbury Arrested on Narcotics Charges in Danbury

A Brookfield woman with a warrant from a domestic violence call in Southbury was charged with possessing four and a half grams of heroin and one gram of crack cocaine in Danbury, Sunday night.

Lynne Wood, 48 of 6 Drover Road was stopped on route 7 at 6:18 p.m. for driving with a suspended registration after she passed a cruiser on the right.

 Police arrested Wood on the Southbury warrant and were escorting her to a car with a police dog in it when she told police she was carrying drugs.

Police found four and a half grams of suspected heroin powder held in five bags, and a further 60, empty bags as well as one suspected crack cocaine rock.

Wood was held on $15,000 of bonds and transferred to Waterbury Superior Court.  She was charged with possession of narcotics, passing on the right, driving without the minimum insurance coverage and operating an unregistered vehicle. 

Man Charged with DUI after Sleeping on Shoulder of I-84

At 3:35 a.m., police found the driver of a car parked on the right shoulder of I 84 near exit 13 asleep.  After waking him up, the officers determined Lucian Kosova, 45, of 56 Tower Road Middlebury was intoxicated, and he was charged with improper parking and driving under the influence.

DUI and Marijuana possession on I-84

At 3 a.m., Thursday, a Brookfield man was arrested on I 84 after police found him driving under the influence with narcotics and marijuana in his car.

After stopping a car on I-84 outside of exit 13, police arrested the Douglas W. Buttendorf, (1978) of 37 Meadowbrook Road Brookfield for DUI, unsafe movements, possession of narcotics, marijuana and drug paraphernalia and failure to appear for a June 1 court date.
