The Pomperaug Health District offers the most protective flu vaccines currently on the market. The quadrivalent shot protects against 4 strains of flu virus. Flublok vaccine is not made with eggs; persons with egg allergies may receive the Flublok vaccine. FluBlok vaccine is only available at flu clinics in the Health District office. High-dose flu vaccine is available for persons 65 years and older. Studies have shown that the high-dose vaccine is safe and more effective for seniors than the regular vaccine, however, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention) does not express a preference for any flu vaccine indicated for people 65 and older.

For the complete flu clinic schedule, visit the Health District’s website. If you have any questions regarding the flu vaccine or the clinics or to print out a consent form ahead of time, please visit www.pddh.org or call the Pomperaug Health District at 203-264-9616.
