Pomperaug HS Teacher Faces Termination For Not Showing Up: Report
English teacher Leslie Kelly reportedly has not been in a classroom in more than 18 months.
SOUTHBURY, CT — Pomperaug High School English teacher Leslie Kelly has not set foot in a classroom in more than 18 months, due to a variety of personal issues, and is now facing termination, the Republican-American reported.
Kelly, who said she was in a car accident in February 2020, also claims she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety and depressive disorder, some of which were exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic.
As such, Kelly reportedly said the district has not done enough to accommodate her situation, which school officials dispute. The district stopped paying her salary sometime following the 2020-21 school year. An arbitration hearing is scheduled for Monday.
