Possible Threat on Social Media Involving Pomperaug High School 'Unfounded': Southbury Police

BREAKING: Southbury police say they investigated and the threat on social media was unfounded.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Southbury police say internet chatter of a threat involving Pomperaug High School turned out to be "unfounded" and there are no concerns.

In a post on the department's Facebook page, Southbury police wrote, "Today the Southbury Police in conjunction with the district investigated reports of a potential threat to Pomperaug High School made via social media. Police have conducted an investigation regarding this matter and have determined this threat to be unfounded. As with any threat, they are taken seriously and properly investigated. We will continue to provide a secure and safe environment at our schools."
