PT for Life, a PTSMC affiliate: Now Open in Southbury, CT!

Southbury, CT – September 2, 2014 – Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers (PTSMC) added its 13th Connecticut location in Southbury.The clinic’s name is PT for Life, a PTSMC affiliate.The company opened the Southbury location through a partnership between PTSMC President and Owner, Alan Balavender, PT, MS, and Andrew (Drew) W. Gallagher, Jr., PT, MBA.

Drew graduated from Northeastern University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. In 2004 he completed his Master’s in Business Administration, Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix. He has over 18 years of experience and a specialization in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. He enjoys working with patients of all ages, and takes an individualized approach when providing care. Drew treats every patient the way he would want his family member treated.

When asked why he chose to open a practice in Southbury Drew said, “I worked in Southbury from 2009-2014. After that experience I knew if I ever had the opportunity to open my own office I would want to be in Southbury. This is one of the greatest communities in the state. I am very excited to offer physical therapy services to this community and help to improve the quality of people’s lives through the services we provide.” Already Drew has begun getting involved with the community by becoming a member of the Southbury Chamber of Commerce and the Southbury Business Association. His official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held later this month.

Mickie Picheco joins Drew as the clinic’s Patient Service Coordinator. As a team, they will improve the quality of people’s lives by striving to provide unmatched patient experiences, clinical excellence and lifelong relationships.
