It’s time once again for the regional food drive to stop the area food pantry.
The drop off location until June 20 is at the Jewish Federation of Western Connecticut office at 444 Main St. North, the Waterbury Republican-American reports.
Items needed include tuna, salmon, canned meats, soups, beans and peanut butter, the paper reports. There was a 38 percent increase in request for assistance the United Way of Greater Waterbury reports.

Last year 11,435 pounds of food was collected, the Republican-American reports.
