Report: 7 Fraud Complaints Investigated in Southbury
The fraud involved people trying to get residents IRS tax refund.
Southbury police are cautioning residents to be on alert after seven residents told police that someone tried to file a fraudulent tax return to the IRS in an effort to get their refund, the Republican-American reports.
Police received fraud complaints from seven residents this past weekend. In one specific case the IRS worked with the resident to delete the false return.
