Report: Family of Four Almost Hit by Car in Southbury

Police say the family was crossing the road near the entrance to the beach on River Road when they were almost struck.

It was a scary moment for a family trying to enter the Southbury Town Beach on River Road earlier this month.

Police say Laszlo Szabo, 34, is accused of almost hitting the family of four that was crossing the road near the entrance to the beach with his vehicle, the Republican-American reports.

The incident occurred on July 19 at 2:15 p.m. as a police officer, who was already on the scene, saw a vehicle traveling at a high speed.

The officer stopped the vehicle driven by Szabo who was charged with having a suspended license, the Rep-Am reports.
