The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that I-84 interchange improvements at Exit 14 in Southbury will begin on February 20, 2024. The purpose of the project is to improve safety and traffic operations along Route 172, Main Street South, and the I-84 Interchange at Exit 14 ramps.

CTDOT Project No. 0130-0173 was awarded to Empire Paving at a cost of $7,416,992 on January 4, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed October 10, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District IV in Thomaston.
