Congratulations to the local college student.
Sean Bannon, of Southbury, Class of 2020, a 2019 Orientation Leader at Assumption College
WORCESTER, MA (05/28/2019)-- The Assumption College Office of Student Affairs has announced that Sean Bannon, of Southbury, Class of 2020, has been selected among several applicants to serve as a 2019 Orientation Leader.
The Orientation leaders, guided by the Catholic principles of Assumptionist tradition, are students dedicated to supporting first-year students during their transition from high school to college. Interactive and collaborative experiences during three different orientation sessions in June - led by the orientation leaders - help both students and parents alike reflect on what it means to be an emerging adult in a college atmosphere. Orientation leaders guide incoming students on their journey of becoming individuals of critical intelligence, thoughtful citizenship, and compassionate service as they embark upon their undergraduate journey.

"Orientation leaders are an essential part of welcoming the incoming class of Greyhounds each summer," said Kaitlin Bevins, director of student activities and leadership development. "They are chosen through a very competitive selection process to represent the student body at Assumption. Our Orientation team is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for the Class of 2023. Our goal is to have each member of the Class of 2023 feel as though they have a place to belong on campus before they leave Orientation."
