S.M.A.R.T., Inc. presents Miss Representation

"GIRLS NIGHT OUT" FOR PARENTS, AND THEIR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS, A FILM AND DISCUSSION ABOUT RAISING CONFIDENT AND SUCCESSFUL WOMEN.

S.M.A.R.T., Inc.(Southbury & Middlebury Acting Responsibly Together) invites parents and their middle school and high school age daughters to a screening of the documentary film Miss Representation on Thursday, November 12, 2015 Southbury Public Library, 100 Poverty Road, Southbury from 6:00pm – 8:30pm. A 2011 Sundance Film Festival Premiere, Miss Representation exposes how mainstream media contributes to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America.

This evening is hosted by S.M.A.R.T., Inc. as part of their ongoing Parent University Series. Following the screening, there will be a short discussion period focused on how to raise confident and successful women that won’t buy into the media’s portrayal of limiting their options for their futures.
