Southbury 2015 Election Guide: The Candidates, Polling Places, Sample Ballot
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3 and we share with you some of the information you'll need to know.

The municipal election in Southbury is on Tuesday, Nov. 3 and features Incumbent Democratic First Selectman Ed Edelson versus Republican challenger Jeff Manville.
The campaign has been hotly contested. Edelson has raised $34,394 versus $16,033 for Manville, the Republican-American reports.
But some questions have surfaced concerning Edelson’s campaign donations including $3,000 from the owners of the proposed Oxford Power Plant, the Rep-Am reports.

During the campaign, Manville has stressed that he doesn’t owe anyone anything. Edelson said the power plant will create 2,700 full-time jobs over the next 20 years.
Manville also raised concerns about the amount of water the plant would use but Edelson says he’s not worried, the Rep-Am reports.

Edelson has questioned how Manville will handle union negotiations when his brother is a Southbury police officer, the Rep-Am reports. Manville during the campaign has spoken about the need for more tax breaks for seniors.
Edelson said he’s moved the town forward positively despite partisan roadblocks from Republicans on the Board of Selectmen.

Polling Places
The Town of Southbury has three polling locations:
- Voting District #1, Firehouse, 461 Main Street South
- Voting District #2, Public Library, 100 Poverty Road
- Voting District #3, Community Building (Senior Center/Parks & Rec), 561 Main Street South
