Southbury Approves Funds for Snow Removal Supplies
The money was used to purchase additional sand and salt earlier this winter.

Update: Southbury First Selectman Edward Edelson thanked residents for approving the additional funds to pay for the extra sand and salt needed to deal with this harsh winter.
“Thank you: I wanted to thank the 100+ residents who attended last (weeks) important Town Meeting and to approve overwhelmingly the resolution to pay for the treated salt and overtime needed to address the harsh winter. It was heartening to hear the overwhelming support for the Public Works Department for the excellent work they have done under very trying circumstances in light of the back to back to back winter events,” Edelson wrote on his Facebook page.
Original post: Southbury town officials had budgeted $194,600 sand and salt this year, but that money went quickly and officials request an additional $125,000 from contingency to purchase more sand and salt, reports the Republican-American.
