Southbury Businesses Pass Surprise Tobacco Inspections: Report

SOUTHBURY, CT - 14 for 14, you can't do better than that.

A minor attempted to purchase tobacco products at 14 local businesses in Southbury and on each occasion clerks checked for identification and refused to sell, the Republican-American reports.

Police officials say that shows that local businesses care about the youths and are diligent in upholding the law, the Rep-Am reports.

If a business is found to have sold tobacco products to someone under the age of 18 then clerks are fine $200 and sanctions are likely for the business.
